CheapHotels.org looked at the cheapest double room available from Dec. 30 to Jan. 2 in 30 major global destinations, excluding hotels that were rated poorly or were not in a central location. The result? Here are the top 10 most expensive destinations for New Year's Eve, along with the minimum nightly hotel rate you can expect to pay—and how much of a price hike that rate is: Cancun, Mexico: $311/night, a 274% hike Dubai, United Arab Emirates: $302/night, a 176% hike Miami Beach: $286, a 289% hike Los Angeles: $272, a 76% hike Edinburgh, Scotland: $268, a 396% hike New Orleans: $249, a 179% hike Honolulu: $246, a 98% hike New York City: $245, a 176% hike Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: $239, a 97% hike Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: $232, a 295% hike Click for the full list of 30 cities.
