City officials Sunday reassured the public that the explosion was part of filming for The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. The sight of the bus in flames and the twisted wreckage afterward caused consternation on Twitter from London residents who said the public had not been adequately warned about the stunt. Sample reaction, via the Independent: "Hey film types next time you blow up a bus on Lambeth Bridge maybe tell us first so children in park aren't freaked?" It reminded some of the 2005 attack on London's transport system that killed 52 civilians. That attack included the explosion of a bus in central London.
