It took big brother Wisconsin almost all night to shake little brother Cal State Fullerton, but the Badgers finally ran away to a 71-56 first round win in the NCAA Tournament last night, reports the Associated Press. The third-seeded Badgers shot only 42% and had 17 turnovers, but they were able to out-rebound the smaller Titans 50-27.

Fullerton (24-9) was able to stay in the game thanks to Josh Akognon's 31 points, including five 3-pointers. Brian Butch led the Badgers (29-4) with 14 points as Wisconsin won for the 24th time in 26 games. The Titans had not been in the tournament since 1978. The Badgers lost in the first round in 2006 and the second round last season. (More NCAA stories.)
