Two public figures from opposite ends of the political spectrum openly compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler this weekend—and Saturday Night Live sees him pretty much the same way. From around the Web:

  • "We all look at Adolf Hitler in 1940. We should look at Adolf Hitler in 1929," Glenn Beck said Sunday on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, per Time. "He was a kind of a funny kind of character that said the things people were thinking. Where Donald Trump takes it, I have absolutely no idea. But Donald Trump is a dangerous man with the things that he has been saying."
  • "Please stop it with voting for Trump," writes comic actor Louis CK in his weekly email to fans, reports Variety. "[T]he guy is Hitler. . . . Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb-over who would say anything at all." In a twist, Louis CK actually hopes for a conservative president to give the country "balance," but only if there's a "good" GOP candidate. "Trump is not that. He’s an insane bigot. He is dangerous."
  • SNL added to the Hitler theme when Darrell Hammond, playing Trump, took the stage for a campaign speech, the Hill reports. "The media is saying they haven't seen anything like this—not since Germany in the 1930s," says Hammond (see the video here). "I mean everybody loves me: racists, ugly racists, people who didn't even know they were racist."
  • German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel added to the Trump attack by saying the GOP candidate threatens peace and prosperity, Reuters reports. "Whether Donald Trump, Marine le Pen or Geert Wilders—all these right-wing populists are not only a threat to peace and social cohesion, but also to economic development," says Gabriel.
