Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian are being sued for close to $200 million for not sufficiently promoting their line of beauty products—or, as TMZ puts it, the sisters "could be on the hook ... for not tweeting about their own makeup line." The Kardashians' first business partner, Boldface, helped them launch the makeup line (initially called Khroma Beauty but later changed to Kardashian Beauty) in 2012, but a year later, Boldface went under. Hillair Capital Management bought them out and invested $10 million into Kardashian Beauty, but Hillair is now suing the sisters, claiming they didn't live up to their obligations, including promoting Kardashian Beauty on social media, Fox News reports. The suit claims Khloe went as far as to say publicly that "she hated everything about the Kardashian Beauty products," the New York Daily News reports.

"The Kardashians almost immediately stopped marketing, promoting and supporting the line and began courting new potential investors to buy out Hillair's stake," the lawsuit reads. "In short: the Kardashians wanted a better, more lucrative deal than they had struck with Hillair." A lawyer for the Kardashians disagrees: "This complaint is an obvious attempt to create leverage by hedge fund operators who took over the Kardashians’ cosmetics brand," he says. "The Kardashians have suffered enormous damages as a result of the many failures and breaches created by the operator’s mismanagement of the company. The lawsuit is a disgrace. It is a jumble of false accusations which will be exposed as lies." Hillair wants its initial $10 million back, plus the profit the company could have made (up to $180 million). (Another beauty product endorsed by the Kardashian sisters is also under fire for not doing what it says it will.)
