Ashley Houts scored her team's last eight points, all on free throws in the final 41 seconds, as eighth-seeded Georgia overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Iowa, 67-61, in the first round of the women's NCAA tournament. Angel Robinson led the winners with 17 points while Houts added 12 assists. Georgia next faces top-seeded UNC, reports AP. In other action:

After blowing a 17-point lead, Notre Dame used an 18-5 run in the final four minutes to defeat Southern Methodist, 75-62. ND's Ashley Barlow scored 20 points and had a career-high 12 rebounds, while freshman Becca Bruszewski scored a personal-best 16 points. The fifth-seeded Fighting Irish dominated the glass, outrebounding SMU 49-26, including 24 of the offensive end. (More women's college basketball stories.)
