Cops: Nurse Had Sex With Suicidal Patient
Samuel Lance Fristo.   (Polk County Jail)

Police arrested a nurse for allegedly having sex—and an ongoing sexual relationship—with a patient under his care after a suicide attempt, KCCI reports. Samuel Lance Fristo, 56, began having sex with the 55-year-old woman in December at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines, Iowa, police say. "The criminal act is based on the relationship that they had professionally," says police Sgt. Paul Parizek. "The fact that he was a nurse and the victim was a patient." When she came under his care, Fristo told her "he is the man for her" and talked "about his completely shaved body," per a police report quoted in the Des Moines Register. The report says the two eventually kissed, which led to him fondling her breasts and showing her his buttocks.

Their alleged encounters—which may have happened three or four times a week—didn't end when she left the facility in February. The report says Fristo was "very demanding" about them staying together, and she allegedly cabbed it to his place on Feb. 13 for an evening of alcohol and sex. She went back to the health-care facility later that month with a broken toe she possibly suffered that night at Fristo's. Staff apparently told on Fristo, and facility chief Tammy Bushong told police the woman couldn't have consenting sex because of her mental health issues. Charged with dependent adult abuse, Fristo was booked Friday and released. (More nurse stories.)
