The sixth-seeded Pittsburgh Panthers, on the strength of a 67-59 upending of No. 3 Baylor, advanced to a regional semifinal in the women’s NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. Shavonte Zellous, a former track sprinter, led the Panthers with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, and grabbed an important rebound late in the game, according to the Associated Press.

Pittsburgh trailed 28-26 at the break, but was able to get the better of the Bears in an ugly second half that was rife with turnovers and missed free throws. Marcedes Walker, the Panther’s large center, chipped in 17 points and nine rebounds to help her school earn the biggest win in its women’s basketball program’s history. (More basketball stories.)
