Sometimes, aligning energies takes time.   (David Grunfeld)

Musician Lauryn Hill says she will make it up to fans angry that she arrived over two hours late to an Atlanta concert Friday night and performed for under 40 minutes. Hill wrote on her Facebook page Sunday that she doesn't show up to shows late because she doesn't care, but because of the artistic process, the AP reports. The challenge, she said, is aligning her "energy with the time." "I don't have an on/off switch. I am at my best when I am open, rested, sensitive and liberated to express myself as truthfully as possible," she wrote.

"Some days we are more successful than others re time," she wrote. "However, the vitality that is infused into the performances is always appreciated by the audiences, who may not know exactly what it took to accomplish." The concert was held at Atlanta's Chastain Park Amphitheatre, which has an 11pm noise curfew. Many in attendance, some of whom had paid well over $100 per ticket, expressed their outrage about the situation on social media. In the note, Hill said that she will announce details of how she'll make it up as she has them. The most popular comment on the note asked for a refund "because the energy that poetically flows through my bank account would like to be refreshed and refilled." (Someone else has recently been under fire for showing up to their own concert super late.)
