Little Marco Rubio made big waves on Twitter Monday night in what Gawker is calling a "charmingly unhinged s--t fit." Rubio, largely absent from Twitter since he dropped his presidential bid, made his unabashed return after a Washington Post story Monday by Chris Cillizza headlined "5 people who are never going to be Donald Trump's vice president," NBC News reports. The short section devoted to Rubio claimed he "seems to be a bit at sea in terms of his next step politically" and that he "is sort of betwixt and between when it comes to his next move." What apparently irked Rubio most was Cillizza's sourcing, which he said were "people close to [Rubio]." Those "unnamed sources" bore the first part of Rubio's wrath during his Twitter tirade, with him accusing them of making things up because "they enjoy status of being perceived as 'in the know.'"

Things quickly escalated to the confrontational ("I have only said like 10000 times I will be a private citizen in January"), the sarcastic ("A 'longtime friend' says Rubio is 'betwixt and between when it comes to whether to chest or legs tomorrow at gym'"), and the ostensibly anti-Trump ("As for future in politics, well it's nearly impossible for someone not in office to ever become a successful candidate for President. Right?"). He wrapped things up shortly before midnight, tweeting, "Ok that's enough for one night. Twitter isn't something you should just rush back into. You have to slowly increase the dosage." But early Tuesday he was back and seeming to promise more of the same in the near future, celebrating an announcement that Twitter will no longer count photos and links toward its 140-character count. His pronouncement: "This is a very promising development. Just in time for my return to Twitter." (More Marco Rubio stories.)
