Evidence proving that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone has been discredited by a research team using techniques unavailable to previous investigators. Bullet analysis used to rule out a second JFK assassin is called "fundamentally flawed" by the new team, led by the former chief metallurgy expert for the FBI, the Washington Post reports.

Lead bullet analysis used in the '60s and '70s to conclude that the five bullet fragments recovered at the scene came from just two bullets has been recently discredited. The Texas A&M team, which tested bullets from the same batch as those fired by Oswald, is calling for a forensic re-analysis of the fragments, which remain preserved from the 1963 shooting.
