Usain Bolt Could Lose One of His Gold Medals

Usain Bolt could lose one of his three gold medals from the 2008 Beijing Olympics thanks to another member of Jamaica's 400-meter relay team from that year. Amid a crackdown during which Olympic officials have been re-testing samples from the past two Summer Games with new technology, Jamaican team member Nesta Carter was discovered to have a banned stimulant in his system during the Beijing games, two sources tell Reuters. There's no official word, but as the Los Angeles Times notes, "There is precedent for stripping medals from an entire squad when one member is caught cheating," including the 2012 US men's 400-meter relay team. However, Reuters only has word so far that Carter's "A" sample was allegedly tainted; he would only face sanctions if his "B" sample also tests positive. (More Usain Bolt stories.)
