Lady Gaga on Taylor Kinney: 'Please Root Us On'

Maybe there will be a wedding after all: After news broke that Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney had called off their engagement, Gaga posted a picture of them on Instagram Tuesday. "Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break," she wrote. "We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."

Prior to the post, a rep for Gaga told E! the couple was just "taking a break," and a source told the magazine that they were simply having trouble dealing with their conflicting schedules and having to be far apart from one another, but that they weren't necessarily broken up for good. Other sources agreed that distance was the main issue, but those sources seemed to paint the split as more permanent: An Us source said "they thought they’d be together forever" and that Gaga was "really torn up," while a Page Six source said "they drifted apart."
