Jason Bourne killed it at the box office this weekend, with the latest installment of the spy thriller series pulling down a cool $60 million—about $10 million more than expected, and marking a fine comeback for Matt Damon in his return as the amnesiac assassin. "Matt Damon went from indie film darling to mainstream movie star with the Bourne franchise," a comScore analyst tells USA Today. "This is a great showing." While Jason Bourne mustered only a 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, viewers gave it an A- at CinemaScore. It's also the second-biggest open of the franchise; Bourne Ultimatum debuted with $69.3 million. Star Trek Beyond took second place with $24 million, while Bad Moms debuted in No. 3 with $23.4 million. (Read more box office stories.)
