A Kentucky man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly stabbed his father as they attended a church service, the AP reports. In a news release, Bowling Green police said Ethan A. Buckley, 21, was charged with assault following the stabbing during a service at Hillvue Heights Baptist Church. Police said Buckley's father was taken to Bowling Green Medical Center, where his condition wasn't immediately known. The father's name wasn't released. Witness Ashlyn Rice tells the AP that the attack happened near the end of the service, when a guest pastor was speaking. "I'm still really shaken up," she says. "Church is the one place you think that you'd be safe."

Brent Duvall, another witness, tells the Bowling Green Daily News that he was at the altar when the attack took place and says he saw people tackle the "very combative" suspect to the ground. He says that despite police descriptions of the attack as an isolated incident, he sees it as an example of what is happening all over the world. "It's a lost and fallen world we live in," he says. "It shouldn't surprise us." (More Kentucky stories.)
