If you thought the affluenza teen's saga was over when he was caught after fleeing to Mexico and sentenced to two years in jail, well, you were wrong. Ethan Couch's lawyers are now arguing that the judge who sentenced him to those two years had no authority to do so. They say that since the case was transferred over from juvenile court it was a civil matter rather than criminal, but the judge who sentenced him is a criminal court judge, CBS News reports. Therefore, the lawyers argue in a motion filed Tuesday, the sentence is "void" and "must be immediately rescinded," meaning the Texas teen would be released, Reuters reports. Couch, now 19, was 16 when he killed four people in a drunk driving crash and was sentenced to probation. (More Ethan Couch stories.)
