"We told you so," the World Health Organization essentially announced Friday, stating that there were no confirmed cases of Zika contracted during the Rio Olympics, Good Morning America reports. According to the BBC, that goes for both athletes and spectators. WHO was criticized by a number of experts for not recommending the games be moved or rescheduled. And a number of athletes and coaches froze their sperm or pulled out of the games completely over Zika concerns. WHO says the lack of Olympic Zika cases was due to the games taking place in Brazil's winter and the country's "successful application of appropriate public health measures." WHO is "optimistic" there also won't be any cases of Zika contracted during this month's Paralympics. (More Zika virus stories.)
