The mother of "Baby Chance," the 9-week-old boy whose murder made headlines last year, committed suicide in her Florida prison cell Saturday, the Miami Herald reports. Kristen Bury, 33, was charged with the Sept. 2015 murder of Chance Walsh, along with Chance's father, Joe Walsh, 37. Police say Walsh beat his infant son and then choked him by pushing a diaper wipe down his throat. The couple is accused of letting the baby's body decompose in his crib, burying him, and leaving for South Carolina. After family members called police, concerned they hadn't seen Chance in a while, his parents initially said he died in a car accident and later said they gave him away. His body was found buried near their home. Bury pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in exchange for testifying against Walsh, and was sentenced to 25 years. (More child murder stories.)
