It would have been horrifying. Instead, it's merely a fake. Police say a YouTube video that shows a woman tied up on a bathroom floor and screaming, "Why are you doing this?" isn't real and, more importantly, has no connection to missing Wisconsin teen Kayla Berg, reports ABC News. According to WSAW, the video—titled "Hi Walter! I got a new gf!"—went viral in recent days after people on the internet started connecting it to the case of Berg, who was 15 when she disappeared seven years ago. The video was posted around the same time. It's unclear why the video, which went up in October 2009, only now started getting attention, but investigators "identified the video producer/camera man, actor, and actress in the video," said an Antigo police statement. "This video is 100% fake."

In the minute-long clip, a man calling himself Patrick says he "met the most wonderful girl." “I know she hates cameras, but I'm going to show you her, anyway,” he says. “You ready?” The camera then shows the woman chained up in the bathroom. "[It] sounded like her, looked like her. It gave me chills," Berg's mother, Hope Sprenger, told WAOW after watching the video. "It made me sick to my stomach." Police had said the woman in the video is wearing clothes similar to those Berg was last seen wearing. "Every tip that we do get on Kayla we take seriously," said Antigo police chief Eric Roller. "One day we're going to have that one tip that's going to make that difference, and we are gonna find something." (In Missouri, a woman's disappearance led to a chilling arrest.)
