Two teenage Moroccan girls face between six months and three years in prison after being caught hugging and kissing on the roof of a house in Marrakech last Thursday. Someone took a picture of the girls, showed their families, and a family member informed police, a human rights group says, per AFP. The girls were arrested and are due in court Friday on charges of "licentious or unnatural acts with an individual of the same sex"; they are currently in jail, per Morocco World News. The Moroccan Association of Human Rights is calling for their release and the ending of the law under which they were charged.

Also in Morocco, a taxi driver and another man were arrested Saturday after being found by authorities having sex in a parked taxi in Casablanca. A Moroccan newspaper says police were actually protecting the men from being assaulted by onlookers who were gathered around the cab, Morocco World News reports. The men, ages 35 and 29, were charged with public indecency. (A fishmonger's gruesome death has sparked rage in Morocco.)
