Veterans in some Texas cities appear to be living a sweeter life than those in other parts of the country, according to WalletHub. The site gave cities a score out of 100, based on 21 factors of "veteran-friendliness," including the availability of VA services, veteran income, the veteran unemployment rate, and the population of veterans. 2. Laredo, Texas: 70.2
3. Irvine, Calif.: 70.1
4. Plano, Texas: 69.1
5. Austin, Texas: 69.0

Worst:

1. Detroit, Mich.: 28.0
2. Newark, NJ: 33.6
3. Cleveland, Ohio: 34.4
4. Memphis, Tenn.: 39.0
