The 5 Most Frivolous Lawsuits of 2016

These are the five silliest and most frivolous lawsuits of 2016, and if you disagree, you can sue. The Institute for Legal Reform picked its annual 10 most ridiculous lawsuits by having 5,000 people rank the most popular stories on Faces of Lawsuit Abuse. Here are the top five:

1. Two different lawsuits against Starbucks, one alleging too much steamed milk, another alleging too much ice.
2. Woman sued Fresh, Incorporated for tricking people into thinking there was more Sugar Lip Treatment lip balm in the bottom of the empty tube.
3. Georgia woman won $161,000 after walking into a ladder, causing her phone to hit her in the face.
4. Animal rights activists sued British photographer, claiming a monkey who took a "selfie" with his camera owns the copyright on the work.
5. MasterCard holder sued the company for raising more than $30 million for cancer research when the original goal was only $4 million.
