Marla Maples may have once been married to a rich guy who's about to become leader of the free world, but that doesn't mean she wants to pay for things like having her hair done. According to DC hairstylist Tricia Kelly, a longtime client approached Kelly about doing Maples' hair for the inauguration, as well as that of Maples' daughter, Tiffany Trump. Kelly said she would charge her normal hairstyling fee, plus a $150 travel fee, but she was informed Maples' budget for her and Tiffany's hair and makeup was $300, Kelly tells the Washington Post. Kelly agreed to a $200 hair fee and a makeup artist agreed to charge $150 ... but even that wasn't good enough, Kelly says. Maples' assistant asked the two if they would work for free in exchange for "exposure" and mentions on Maples' social media channels.
Kelly, who notes she has prominent Republicans and Democrats alike as clients, says she was "stunned" by the "entitled" behavior. "There are people who make far less than they do who pay full price," she says. "It seemed like they were trying to see how much they could get for free based on their names." She tells the Post that, after the newspaper contacted Maples' spokesperson, the client who originally contacted Kelly about the gig got back in touch, explaining that Maples is concerned about money since her ex stopped paying child support once Tiffany graduated college. "She is used to a certain lifestyle and you don't understand that," the client supposedly wrote. (More Tiffany Trump stories.)
