Last Weekend's Uber Protest Actually Worked

That was quick. After so many people deleted their Uber accounts in protest over the weekend that the ride-sharing company had to create a new automated process, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick announced Thursday he's dropping out of President Trump's economic advisory council, the Guardian reports. According to the New York Times, customers and employees were upset after Kalanick said he would keep working with Trump even after the latter's executive order banning immigrants and refugees from seven Muslim nations. "Joining the group was not meant to be an endorsement of the president or his agenda but unfortunately it has been misinterpreted to be exactly that," Kalanick said in an email to Uber staff.
