Angelina Jolie was in Cambodia, the birthplace of her first son, over the weekend to promote her first project since her very public split from Brad Pitt, and as one might imagine, the subject came up in interviews. "I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time," Jolie told a BBC interviewer, via Vanity Fair. "And we are a family. And we will always be a family. And we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it." She continued that "many people find themselves in these situations," and that "my focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through. ... I’m coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."

Jolie was in Cambodia, with her entire brood in tow, to promote First They Killed My Father. She calls the film something of a passion project for her, because, "without Cambodia, I may never have become a mother. Part of my heart is and will always be in this country. And part of this country is always with me: Maddox." A clip of the BBC interview is here. (More Angelina Jolie stories.)
