Milo is out. The Conservative Political Action Committee has rescinded its invitation to alt-right figure Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at the group's annual convention this week, reports Politico. The move comes after video surfaced of the Breitbart News editor saying that sexual relationships between "boys and older men" can be beneficial to the youths, though he later clarified that by "boys," he was using slang for young men (of legal age) in the homosexual community. He made his clarification in a Facebook post in which stated flatly that he opposes pedophilia as "vile and digusting," and accused his critics of deceptively editing the video to suggest otherwise.
CPAC, however, sees it differently. “Due to the revelation of an offensive video in the past 24 hours condoning pedophilia, the American Conservative Union has decided to rescind the invitation,” says Matt Schlapp, who chairs the group that sponors CPAC. The ACU also asked Yiannopoulos to “further address these disturbing comments,” but justfied its original inivitation as a matter of principal in regard to free speech.
