Citing a "dramatic increase in acts of hate and intolerance," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched a statewide investigation into crimes targeting Jewish groups Thursday after at least a dozen tombstones were toppled and some defaced in a Jewish cemetery in Rochester. The crime at Waad Hakolel Cemetery follows similar incidents in St. Louis and Philadelphia and a New York state hate crime task force is investigating, reports CNN. No suspects are in custody, though the Anti-Defamation League has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction, reports the Democrat and Chronicle. (More antisemitism stories.)
