Paul Ryan is looking to squeeze a little more out of House Republicans' health care bill, amid outcry that the measure leaves older Americans out in the cold, reports Politico. "We believe we should have even more assistance ... for that person in their 50s and 60s because they experience higher health care costs," Ryan told Fox News Sunday. He added that while "market freedom and regulatory relief" would "dramatically lower" costs in that age demographic, "even with that, we think, we should be offering more assistance than what the bill currently does." Per Reuters, Ryan says that Republicans are massaging the bill to include work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid recipients and allow federal block grants. The bill is set to hit the House floor on Thursday. (More Paul Ryan stories.)
