Alex Jones is abandoning the PizzaGate conspiracy theory, and has issued an apology to the owner of Comet Ping Pong, the pizzeria in Washington, DC, that was falsely rumored to be the site of a child sex trafficking ring last year, reports the Hill. "In our commentary about what had become known as PizzaGate, I made comments about (Comet Ping Pong owner James Alefantis) that in hindsight I regret, and for which I apologize to him," Jones said Friday. "To my knowledge today, neither Mr. Alefantis, nor his restaurant Comet Ping Pong, were involved in any human trafficking as was part of the theories about PizzaGate that were being written about in many media outlets and which we commented upon," Jones said. He blamed reporters since fired from his Infowars website. (The gunman who was "investigating" the allegations admitted last year that his information "wasn't 100%.")
