All DNC Staffers Told to Turn in Resignation Letters

It's housecleaning time at the Democratic National Committee: The party's governing body has asked all staff members to submit resignation letters dated April 15. Sources tell NBC News that the request was made soon after Tom Perez was elected as the new DNC chief in late February. A transition committee is working on restructuring the party, and while some DNC staffers may stay on, having the resignation letters on hand will smooth the process, the Hill reports.

A Perez spokeswoman says the move is a standard part of the process, though it follows an extremely rocky period for the DNC that included the leaking of emails revealing an anti-Bernie Sanders bias—and, months later, the defeat of Hillary Clinton. (More Democratic National Committee stories.)
