Police Tased Rays pitcher Al Reyes twice today in a Tampa, Fla. bar before arresting him for unlawful violence, the St. Petersburg Times reports. Cops say Reyes was celebrating his birthday when he picked a fight, took a punch, and "began to spit blood on the people in the area." Reyes expressed regret before tonight's game, saying, “I tried to have a good time on my birthday."

An officer in the bar reportedly saw Reyes' drunken display and, after a warning, Tasered him to the ground. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound pitcher ignored orders to stay down and was zapped again before being carted off. A police spokesman said cops probably won't press more charges against Reyes or his assailant. "They're very minor misdemeanor charges," he said. (More Al Reyes stories.)
