Loved Jagged Little Pill? Well, more than two decades later, you can love it all over again as a stage musical. Alanis Morissette has created a show based on her seminal 1995 album, and it premieres in May of next year at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Mass., the New York Times reports. The book will be written by Juno writer Diablo Cody, and the show will be staged by Tony-winning director Diane Paulus, who says Morissette's album still has "deep meaning" today. Orchestrations and arrangements will be handled by Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Tom Kitt, per Rolling Stone.

In addition to, of course, songs from Jagged Little Pill, the show will also contain other Alanis songs. "I am so excited to tell a modern story through these iconic songs," says Cody in a statement. "Alanis' music is full of powerful narratives that lend themselves organically to this process." The show will center on "a modern and multi-generational family and their complex dynamics, touching on issues of gender identity and race," per a press release cited by Entertainment Weekly. Variety notes that ART has recently "become a stop for a number of shows on the way to Broadway." (Read more Alanis Morissette stories.)
