The man behind the greatest cartoon of all time—and also The Simpsons—is back. Quartz reports Futurama creator Matt Groening will be making a new show for Netflix. Disenchantment is an "adult fantasy" about a "hard-drinking young princess," an elf, and a demon in a medieval kingdom going to ruin. Groening says the show is about "how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots." For Simpsons fans who think that seems a little bleak, the Guardian points you toward Life in Hell, the weekly cartoon strip Groening drew from 1977 to 2012. The Guardian describes it as Groening's "life's work" and states "its unceasing cynicism is a thing to behold." Disenchantment stars Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, Eric Andre, and a bunch of Futurama alums. Its initial 20-episode run starts next year. (More Matt Groening stories.)
