Sean Spicer's final day at the White House was last Thursday, and it looks like President Trump's former press secretary has already lined up his next gig: paid speaker. Politico reports Spicer has joined Worldwide Speakers Group, which states there is high demand for Spicer on the paid-speaker circuit due to his insider view of the election and the Trump administration. "With his well-known candor and extensive experience, Sean is uniquely qualified to help audiences understand how the political environment will impact them now and in the future,” WWSG says in a statement.
However, Politico notes "candor" was not exactly what Spicer was known for as press secretary. He falsely claimed Trump's inauguration crowd was bigger than that of Obama, and USA Today adds he insisted "covfefe" actually meant something and wasn't a typo. CNN had already said it wouldn't hire Spicer due to a history of false statements as press secretary. After the Politico story, WWSG removed all mentions of candor from Spicer's bio, which now plays up the fact that "everybody knows" him and his "trademark style." It also makes mention of Melissa McCarthy's popular impression of him, according to CNN. It's unclear how much Spicer, who routinely criticized Hillary Clinton for giving paid speeches, will be paid for his. (More Sean Spicer stories.)
