A plastic surgeon has written a children’s book aimed at explaining why Mommy is getting her tummy tucked, Newsweek reports. My Beautiful Mommy follows the story of a mother undergoing cosmetic surgery—and telling her daughter why, from doctor consultations to post-op bandages. Parents “just try to ignore the kids’ questions completely,” the author says, and his book is here to help.

Out Mother’s Day, it focuses on the popular “mommy makeover” (breast implants and tummy tuck), and children advocates aren’t too bothered—though one wishes the book’s protagonist admitted, “This is silly, but I really want it anyway." As it is, the featured mother ends up “even more” beautiful than before, and with a new nose, too: “different, my dear—prettier.” (More plastic surgery stories.)
