It's tough to precisely gauge the popularity of original shows being streamed on Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu because the companies don't reveal numbers, but a new metric claims to have come up with the most popular original shows on each. As cited by the Hollywood Reporter, the figures from Parrot Analytics take into account "streams, viewers, engagement and more." Here are the top two shows for each in September:

  • Netflix: Narcos, Stranger Things
  • Amazon: The Man in the High Castle, The Tick
  • Hulu: The Handmaid's Tale, 11.22.63
Click for the full lists, along with more nuggets about the future of streaming. Here's one: 32.5 million Americans have never subscribed to pay TV, and this number of "cord-nevers" is projected to rise to 41 million by 2021. (More streaming video stories.)
