The Washington Post gets a sneak peek at two upcoming books about Hillary Clinton, illuminating her turbulent marriage to Bill and voracious political ambition, just in time for 2008. A Woman in Charge, by Watergate star Carl Bernstein, details Hillary's terror of Whitewater prosecution and her annoyance at her husband's philandering, as well as a scheme to run for governor of Arkansas to spite him.

Meanwhile, Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton, by two former New York Times reporters, reveals that Hillary hired a private investigator to "destroy" consort Gennifer Flowers. The Clinton camp has already brushed the books off as old news—"cash for rehash" in a spokesman's coinage. (More Hillary Clinton stories.)
