Cindy's Tips for Green Living

“We all want to live a little greener,” ex-supermodel and mom Cindy Crawford writes in The Daily Green. The key for moms is making small changes that mesh with hectic household living:

  1. Filter your tap water and use a reusable bottle. Thirty-eight billion bottles end up in landfills each year—why add to the pile?

  1. Unplug. Even turned off, appliances drain 40% of a home's power.
  2. Wash with cold water. It saves energy, and concentrated detergent cuts down on container waste.
  3. Look up phone numbers online. Phone books take up nearly 10% of space at landfills.
