Mueller's Team Grilled Kushner About Flynn

President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner was indeed questioned by special counsel Robert Mueller's team about former national security adviser Michael Flynn, a person familiar with the investigation tells the AP. The questioning of Kushner earlier this month took about 90 minutes and was aimed in part at establishing whether Kushner had any exculpatory information on Flynn. As CNN puts it, "One source said the nature of this conversation was principally to make sure Kushner doesn't have information that exonerates Flynn." The AP's source said multiple White House witnesses have been asked about Flynn, who was forced to resign in February after officials found he'd misled them about his contacts with the Russian ambassador.

The confirmation of Kushner's interview came as prosecutors working for Mueller postponed grand jury testimony related to Flynn's business dealings. The postponement comes a week after Flynn's attorneys alerted Trump's legal team they could no longer share information—widely seen as an indication that Flynn is cooperating with Mueller or negotiating a deal. In a statement, Kushner's attorney said, "Mr. Kushner has voluntarily cooperated with all relevant inquiries and will continue to do so." The details of Kushner's questioning and the postponement of the grand jury were confirmed by people familiar with Mueller's investigation. The grand jury testimony that had been scheduled for the coming days related to Flynn's firm, Flynn Intel Group, and its work with a public relations firm and interactions with congressional staff, one of the people said.
