He had a short run in the White House, but his "turbulent tenure" was apparently long enough for Sean Spicer to write a book. That's what Politico reports the former White House press secretary is currently in the midst of doing, with Spicer revealing to Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday night that he needs to "set the record straight." "I looked back at the coverage of the campaign, the transition and the first six, seven months of this White House and realized that the stories that are being told are not an accurate represent[ation] of what President Trump went through to get the nomination, to transition to the White House and then his first six months in office," Spicer noted.
Spicer also made sure to point the finger at the press for a "mass amount of incorrect and malicious attacks on the president," per the Washington Post. The tagline of his tome, The Briefing, due out in late July from conservative publisher Regnery Publishing, promises to "shed new light on the headline-grabbing controversies of the Trump administration's first year." Spicer, who resigned his post after a combative six months with the press in the White House when Anthony Scaramucci was hired as Trump's communications director, was replaced by Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
