Details are emerging about Monday's incident in which Vanessa Trump was taken to the hospital after opening an envelope with suspicious powder inside. Police now think the powder was harmless corn starch, reports NBC News. The network and the Daily News also say the envelope contained a note threatening Vanessa's husband, Donald Trump Jr. “You’re an awful person and now you get what you deserve,” it read, according to the Daily News.
NBC has different, stronger wording, but the gist is the same. It now appears that Vanessa and two other people, one reportedly her mother, were taken to the hospital more as a precaution than anything else. The envelope had a Boston postmark and arrived at the Trumps' residence in midtown Manhattan. The Secret Service is investigating the incident, which President Trump called "disgusting."
