Shaun White Makes Olympic History for US

Shaun White didn't just win the gold medal in the men's halfpipe on Wednesday at the Pyeongchang Olympics, he cemented himself as the "unquestioned greatest snowboarder ever," writes Adam Kilgore in the Washington Post. White threw down a spectacular final run to slip by Japan's Ayumu Hirano with a score of 97.75 to 95.25, per the AP. White is the first American male to win gold at three separate Winter Games.

He won his first gold at age 19, his second at 23, then suffered a lapse and got shut out at age 27. That makes this year's win at 31 that much sweeter.
