Casual fans of actor and comedian Ken Jeong will know him from roles in the Hangover movies and in TV shows such as Dr. Ken and Community. More serious fans will know that the 48-year-old Jeong also happens to be a trained physician. That became abundantly clear Saturday when Jeong rushed from the stage during a stand-up routine in Phoenix to help a woman in the audience who had apparently suffered a seizure, reports TMZ. Jeong tended to her until paramedics arrived, then resumed his show.

"It’s a wonderful story," Heather Holmberg, who was in the audience at the Stand Up Live club, tells USA Today. "It was such perfect timing: Ken just jumped from the stage to help." Jeong appeared to think he was being heckled initially when the commotion started, then quickly responded when audience members let him know what was going on. "He's a very funny man, but you were able to see a side of him that's very compassionate," says Holmberg. No word on the woman who suffered the medical emergency, but witnesses say she had been helped to her feet by the time paramedics arrived. (More Ken Jeong stories.)
