The president has said she's doing well, and the first lady herself tweeted on Wednesday she was "feeling great," but other than that, Melania Trump's health status after her kidney surgery on Monday has been kept "under wraps," per the New York Times. Specifically, CNN poses the question: "Why is Melania Trump still in the hospital?" Doctors have been speculating on what exactly is wrong with the first lady after the White House noted she had a "benign kidney condition," and the mystery has deepened after her recuperation period after what was supposedly a simple embolization procedure, said to take no more than 90 minutes, has stretched from what experts say is usually a day or so into a fifth day.

And in regard to CNN's question, it's not even clear if the first lady is still in the hospital. Even though the East Wing had issued a statement after Melania Trump's surgery saying it had gone well, with no complications, and President Trump had predicted she'd be home in "two or three days," everyone affiliated with the first lady is staying mum on how she's doing, and even on where she is. The Times notes the East Wing, West Wing, Secret Service, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and even a rep for Melania Trump are all keeping their lips zipped on whether she's back at the White House or still at Walter Reed. "When I have something to tell you, I will," Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's communications director, said in an email. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, when confronted by reporters Friday, simply said, "The first lady is doing great." (More Melania Trump stories.)
