(AP Photo/Paul Sancya, File) Disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar, who has already been sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing former patients in Michigan, is facing an additional six counts of sexual assault in Texas, reports NBC. Authorities have also charged trainer Debbie Van Horn with one count of sexual assault for “acting as a party” with the former USA Gymnastics team doctor, reports the Chicago Tribune. The new charges are linked to six former patients who were treated at Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, which was used as a training center by USA Gymnastics. The ranch is owned by legendary coaches Bela and Martha Karolyi; the Karolyis have not been charged with any criminal wrongdoing. Although the Karolyis have said that they were not aware Nassar was abusing young gymnasts, Nassar’s victims believe the couple ignored signs of abuse and should be held accountable. "Placing all of the blame on [USA Gymnastics] and none on the Karolyis is a whitewash," attorney John Manly told CNN. Manly represents many of Nassar’s 300-plus accusers. "Charging Larry Nassar with more crimes makes about as much sense as digging up Lee Harvey Oswald and charging him with JFK’s murder,” he said. But an assistant district attorney pushed back against the accusations and told CNN, "We do not believe there is any corroborative evidence with regard to Martha or Bela Karolyi that they did anything wrong."
