A Chinese girl believed to have been abducted Thursday from Reagan National Airport in Virginia is still missing. Jinjing Ma, 12, is a "critical missing juvenile," authorities said Friday during a press conference, the Washington Post reports. "It's really important that the community recognizes this child may be in danger," says David Huchler, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority chief. Ma was last seen in the airport about 8:15am Thursday, according to CNN. After she was reported missing from a tour group, an Amber Alert was issued. As of Friday, local and state authorities were involved in the investigation, as well as the FBI and the State Department and Customs and Immigration Enforcement, per ABC.

"We have conducted interviews across the country," Huchler says, "tracing the footsteps of the tour group she was with." According to authorities, Ma had been in the US since July 26, visiting schools. While at the airport, she went to use the bathroom; after encountering an Asian woman on the way, she came out of the bathroom wearing different clothes. She and the woman walked away, ultimately exiting the airport and driving away in a recent-model, white Infiniti QX70. Authorities believe that a man seen earlier with the woman was the driver, adding that it's possible the pair also contacted Ma in New York. Anyone with information is asked to call the Airports Authority at 703-417-2400 or the Virginia State Police at 800-822-4453. (More missing child stories.)
