Lady Gaga, who paid a heartfelt tribute to her friend Rick "Zombie Boy" Genest after his death last week, has apologized for possibly speaking too soon about the manner of his death, the BBC reports. The 32-year-old fell to his death from a third-floor balcony in Montreal in what relatives and manager Karim Leduc say could have been an accident. "Out of respect for Rick's family, Rick & his legacy I apologize if I spoke too soon as there was no witnesses or evidence to support any conclusion for the cause of his death," Gaga tweeted Sunday after deleting tweets calling the death a suicide. "I in no way meant to draw an unjust conclusion. My deepest condolences to his entire family and friends."

"The art we made was sacred to me and I was emotional, he was an incredible artist and his art and heart will live on," Gaga said in another tweet, adding: "Rest In Peace. You beautiful soul." Leduc tells USA Today that he believes Genest, a model famous for the macabre tattoos that covered most of his body, died in an accidental fall after going to the balcony for a cigarette and losing his balance while sitting on a guardrail. "Not leaving a suicide note to anybody is very unusual. He wrote to me every day," says Leduc. "He was very expressive." He says an autopsy found no drugs in his client's system and the coroner is looking at security camera footage from the area to try to determine what happened. (More Lady Gaga stories.)
