The saga of Omarosa's departure from the White House and subsequent transformation into a Donald Trump critic continued Sunday as the former Apprentice contestant released what she claims is a secret recording of her being fired by chief of staff John Kelly. Per USA Today, Omarosa claimed on "Meet the Press" that the firing was presented as a threat. "The chief of staff," Omarosa told Chuck Todd, "under the direction of the president of the United States threatening me on damage to my reputation and things getting ugly for me. That is downright criminal." Omarosa, who rose to fame as the Trump apprentice you loved to hate, was given the post of Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison when the current administration first took office. She was famously booted from the White House back in December.

In the audio obtained by NBC News, a voice Omarosa says is Kelly's can be heard referencing her reputation. "If we make this a friendly departure we can all ... look at your time here in the White House as a year of service to the nation without any difficulty in the future relative to your reputation,” the voice says. Omarosa on Sunday also reaffirmed her assertion that President Trump is a racist "con" who doesn't care about minorities. She's currently making appearances ahead of her White House tell-all, which officially hits shelves Tuesday. Also ahead of the release, Trump and company have hit out at the book they claim is nothing but a lot of hooey, with the president himself referring to Omarosa as a low-life. (More Omarosa stories.)
