Over the weekend, Omarosa Manigault Newman released a recording of White House chief of staff John Kelly firing her. That prompted a slew of criticism given that she made the recording in what is typically an uber-secure location, the White House Situation Room. The criticism, however, apparently has not fazed the former reality TV star: On Monday, she released a recording of President Trump himself, reports NBC News. (You can hear it here.) Manigault Newman made the recording the day after she got fired, and in it, Trump tells her that he had no idea she was told to go. “Omarosa? Omarosa what’s going on? I just saw on the news that you’re thinking about leaving? What happened?” Trump says on the phone call from December 2017.

When she responds that Kelly "said that you guys wanted me to leave," the president replies, “No…I, I, nobody even told me about it." He adds: “You know they run a big operation, but I didn’t know it. I didn’t know that. Goddamn it. I don’t love you leaving at all.” After the tape's release, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani suggested that Manigault Newman might be breaking the law. "She's certainly violating national security regulations, which I think have the force of law," he said on Fox & Friends, per the AP. Giuliani also accused her of being ungrateful, considering that "Donald Trump made her," a reference to their Apprentice days. A former spokesman for the National Security Council called the recording of Kelly in the Situation Room "unprecedented" and a major breach of protocol. (Omarosa's memoir makes some damning allegations against Trump.)
