"It's like a nightmare I can't wake up from," says the husband of a pregnant woman who, along with the couple's two young daughters, has been missing since Monday. Authorities believe that Shannan Watts, 34, and daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, are in danger, NBC reports. Shannan is 15 weeks pregnant. Husband Chris Watts tells Today that he and his wife, who reside in Frederick, about 30 miles north of Denver, had an "emotional" conversation early Monday before he went to work, and that he hasn't heard from her since. He didn't provide any more details about the conversation. He says he received no response to texts and a call that he made to his wife later in the day. "That was a little off," he says.

Nickole Utoft, a friend of Shannan Watts, tells FOX31 that she called police after Shannan did not answer her phone. The two had returned early Monday from a business trip and had planned to meet up later. “I called her and texted her several times,” she says, adding that when Shannan missed a doctor's appointment, "I was even more concerned." Officers doing a welfare check found that Shannan's keys, purse, and phone, as well as her car, were still at the house. In addition to local authorities, the FBI and Colorado Bureau of Investigations have joined the search, the Denver Channel reports. Anyone with information is asked to call 303-652-4222 or 720-382-5700. (More missing person stories.)
